Net Control Station Awards
March 1, 2006

Overview

This document provides guidelines for the issuance of the now current NCS Award, Journeyman NCS Award and Expert NCS Award. These latter two NCS Awards are net specific.

These Awards are to be viewed as a Thank You Award issued by the Club. There is no award application required or requested. All of the points required to earn the Award will be the result of a specific Amateur Radio Station who has performed the Net Control function and such has been recorded by the Net Coordinators in writing to the Century Club Awards Secretary. These reports for the Journeyman NCS and Expert NCS are to be filed after a station has completed the 100 points required for an award.

Net Coordinators please note you will still have to continue to report to the Awards Secretary within 60 days, your monthly reports for the initial NCS Award as issued by the Awards Secretary.

Current Basic NCS Award

This Award is issued after a specific Amateur Radio Station has been NCS on any of the 3905 Century Club Nets and such net operations have been reported to the Club's Awards Secretary in writing by the specific net coordinator and an accumulation of 100 points has been achieved earned at a rate of 4 points per net session. Session points may be split if two NCS stations have each completed approximately half of a net as reported by the net coordinator in writing to the Awards Secretary.

Journeyman NCS Award

This Award is issued by the 3905 Century Club Awards Secretary after a specific Amateur Radio Station has accumulated an additional 100 points beyond what is required for the issuance of the now current Basic NCS Award.

Expert NCS Award

This Award is issued by the 3905 Century Club Awards Secretary after a specific Amateur Radio Station has accumulated an additional 200 points beyond what is required for the issuance of the now current Basic NCS Award.

Point Structure

Early nets@ SSB; 80 SSB; 80 RTTY; 80 CW; 40 SSB; 40 CW; 40 RTTY; 160 SSB = 4 Points

Late nets on all of the above = 4 points

If the early net control is split between two stations, such as 2 hours each, each station gets 2 points each.

It will be the responsibility of the Net Coordinators to keep a tally for the Journeyman and Expert Thank You Awards. After a station has completed the required 100 points, the net coordinators will submit the tally to the Awards Secretary for distribution of the Journeyman, Expert and any other new or advanced NCS Awards (Not named yet).
