WM9H QSL Bureau
(QSL Bureau for All Nets Except 40m SSB)
GENE SCHNEIDER, WM9H
4472 S 44th ST
GREENFIELD, WI 53220-3604
Gene is the QSL Bureau Manager for all nets other than 40m SSB. That includes 75m SSB, 160m SSB, all Digital Nets, all CW Nets. He also provides QSL Manager service to Handihams. After reading the following, if you have any questions about the operations or policies of any of the WM9H bureaus not answered below, please contact Gene directly.
Gene accepts #10 (4-1/8" x 9-1/2") and 6" x 9" SASEs (Self-Addressed Stamped Envelopes), no clasps or string ties, and asks that in addition to your name and address in the middle of the envelope you also write your call sign boldly in the upper left corner. Please use the "Forever Stamp" on the SASEs you send so there's no need for you to supply additional postage should postage rates go up.
Please sort your cards by call area. Cards taller than 4" - and even 4" is pushing it - are discouraged because they do NOT fit in a #10 envelope and must be cut or folded to fit and information may be lost.
PLEASE, if you work a club call, make a note of the OPERATOR's call sign on the card. A note in an upper corner of the card in the form of "Op: AB1XYZ" will assure the card is properly routed, otherwise the card will be returned to sender.
Cards sent to the WM9H Bureau for stations that do not have SASEs in the bureau will be returned to you if/when that station has been out of envelopes for 30 days.
You can perform an online Good in the Bureau Check or you may download a program to do off-line checks on your own computer, both at the link just shown. "Good in the Bureau" or "GIB" means a station has sent self-addressed stamped envelopes to our bureau(s).
Please understand that it may take ten days or so after you send SASEs for your bureau status to be reflected in the GIB listing. Also, your status will not be reflected in posted check-in lists until those posting the lists update the GIB database in their copy of the CCLogger program. It is Club policy that no listing older than 72 hours is to be used. If your status is wrong in a listing posted to the reflector at the same time that it is correct in Rick's GIB List, then you should notify the person who posted the list using an out of date GIB database. If your status is wrong on a listing you are viewing live with your own copy of CCLogger, then not only should the person logging the net be notified that his GIB database is out of date, but you also need to update the GIB listing in your own copy of the CCLogger.
As an optional service offered since Jan 2004, Gene provides envelopes and postage through a series of envelope plans. You may send your own SASEs to the bureau, but using the plans is easier and more economical. These plans save you money by eliminating the 2 units of postage required to send 10 envelopes to the bureau. They also provide the convenience of not having to buy envelopes, address them, stamp them and package them for mailing to the bureau. You may also make a contribution to our "first time check-ins" SASE program. By using the heavier 6" X 9" SASEs, oversized cards will fit without folding or cutting and there's much less chance of damage to the envelope in transit than for #10 envelopes.
Because PayPal levies a service charge, the list below shows the different costs of each plan when paid by cash/check or by PayPal. Please make sure that you include your call sign and confirm which plan you would like, and also any amount that you wish to donate towards the bureau funds. Please be sure to ENTER YOUR CALL SIGN when ordering.
The WM9H QSL Bureau accepts donations to cover miscellaneous expenses such as file folders, other supplies, and occasional courtesy envelopes to new net participants. You may send any donations to the address above or via the PayPal form below.
