Use of the Club Call Signs

K4CCN & VE4CCN

There are two Club call signs belonging to The 3905 Century Club available for use by Club Members upon application to and approval by the call sign Trustees.  The following requirements apply to the use of these Club call signs.  If you have questions after reading this page, please contact the appropriate Club Call Sign Trustee.

  1. A request to use a Club call sign must be made to the approproate Trustee on the Club Call Application Form or you may send this same information to the Trustee via email.  If the dates you request are available and your request is approved you will receive an approval from the Trustee authorizing your use of the Club call sign for the dates requested.  If your application is sent by postal mail, please send an SASE (Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope) with one unit of postage on it for returning your approval to you.  If you applied by email, you will receive any approval via email.  Along with the approval you may receive additional information related to your use of the Club call sign.  Contact information for the Trustees of our Club call signs may be found in the Listing of Club Officers under "General Officers."
  2. REQUIREMENTS:
    1. An applicant must be a member of The 3905 Century Club with a valid 100-Point certificate number and must be licensed by the licensing authority that issued the call sign being applied for to use the frequencies and modes for the 3905CC nets on which they intend to operate.  The use of a Club call sign does NOT grant any operating privileges outside those granted by your personal amateur radio license.
    2. The maximum period for which K4CCN will be assigned is seven (7) calendar days.  (0001 UTC starting date through 2400 UTC ending date)  There is currently no limit on the use of the VE4CCN call sign, but if demand increases one may be established.
    3. The Club call sign is authorized for use ONLY on nets operated by The 3905 Century Club.
    4. The final decision on allowing the use of the Club call sign will rest with the Call Sign Trustee.
    5. During a Club EYEBALL event, the K4CCN call sign will be assigned to the Eyeball Coordinator for the duration of the Eyeball event and may be used for operating one or more NCS stations at the same time from the Eyeball site on different nets.  The VE4CCN call sign will be available to be shared by Canadian amateurs attending or enroute to the Eyeball event.
  3. QSL CARDS FOR CONTACTS MADE USING THE CLUB CALL SIGNS:
    1. The applicant is responsible for filling out QSL cards for all contacts made and for delivering those cards to the stations contacted, via the 3905CC Bureaus or direct.
    2. Images of QSL cards are available from the call sign Trustee for printing QSL cards for contacts you make using the Club call sign.  Arrangements with the Trustee to obtain preprinted cards may be possible if you are unable to print them yourself.
    3. Only the QSL card that is furnished by The 3905 Century Club, Inc. is authorized for use to confirm valid 3905CC Club Call contacts.
    4. Stick-on labels with the required information for confirming a contact may be used on the card.  You should sign the card by hand so there is no discrepancy with the ARRL if the card is used for awards in addition to The 3905 Century Club awards.
    5. The Trustees have no interest in receiving QSL cards for contacts made by using the Club call signs so you are advised to either check in as "No Cards Needed" or to make it very clear upon check-in that cards are to be sent to you personally.

It has come to our attention that there have been some differences in how cards for K4CCN have been completed.  These seem to center on the upper right hand corner of the card, the Portable and Mobile lines.  These lines are for you to enter the state you were Portable or Mobile in (not both).

Following is a copy of the VE4CCN card.
